Televo Not Working? How to Fix Televo IPTV
By Sam Rivera · Updated September 2026
If Televo IPTV has stopped loading, keeps buffering, or won't accept your login, the cause is usually one of five things — and most of them take a few minutes to fix. This guide explains each one, how M3U playlists and Xtream Codes API actually work, and where to get fast help.
What Is Televo IPTV?
Televo IPTV is an IPTV subscription service for viewers in the United Kingdom, offering live UK channels, sport, films, and box sets over your internet connection. According to televouk.com, its plans run from 1 month (£19.99) to lifetime (£150), each with 1 connection, in 4K, FHD, and HD quality, with a built-in VPN, anti-freeze technology, a full EPG TV guide, and catch-up TV.
Televo works on Samsung and LG Smart TVs, Android TV, iOS, Fire TV Stick, MAG boxes, NVIDIA Shield, Xiaomi Mi Box, Android phones and tablets, Windows PCs, the Smart IPTV app, and web browsers. Your login is delivered as either an M3U playlist URL or an Xtream Codes login, which you enter into a compatible player app. Televo lists support by WhatsApp and email.
Televo details are taken from televouk.com at the time of writing and may change — check the Televo IPTV website for current plans and prices.
Why Is Televo IPTV Not Working? 5 Common Reasons
These are the problems we see most often when helping IPTV users, whichever provider they're with — in order of how often they're the cause.
1. Your subscription has expired or your login changed
Signs: The player says "invalid username or password", "account expired", or the channel list suddenly comes up empty.
Fix: Check the expiry date shown in your player's account or settings screen. If your subscription has ended, or your provider has issued new details, you'll need the current login from them — no app setting can fix an expired account.
2. The M3U URL or Xtream Codes details were entered incorrectly
Signs: The playlist fails to load straight after setup, or the app reports a connection or authentication error.
Fix: Re-enter the details exactly as supplied. The most common mistakes are a missing port number (such as :8080), http typed as https (or the other way round), a space copied at the end, or the username and password swapped. Copy and paste rather than typing where you can.
3. Your internet connection is too slow or unstable
Signs: Channels start but buffer, freeze, drop in quality, or stop every few minutes — especially in the evening.
Fix: Run a speed test on the streaming device itself, not your phone. As a guide, HD needs a steady 10 Mbps or more and 4K around 25 Mbps. Restart your router, use an Ethernet cable or move the device closer to the router, and close other heavy downloads while you watch.
4. The player app needs clearing, updating, or replacing
Signs: Everything worked before, then the app started crashing, showing an old channel list, or the EPG stopped loading.
Fix: Clear the app's cache (and data, if needed), update it to the latest version, then re-add your playlist. If the problem continues, try a different player — TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro, or IBO Player Pro — to find out whether it's the app or the service.
5. Too many devices are connected at once
Signs: Streams play on one device but stop, or refuse to start, as soon as someone else in the house starts watching.
Fix: Every IPTV plan has a connection limit — how many devices can stream at the same time. Televo's plans are listed with 1 connection. Close the app fully on devices you're not using, or move to a plan with more connections if more than one person needs to watch.
Quick-Fix Checklist
- Restart the streaming device and your router.
- Check your subscription hasn't expired.
- Re-enter your M3U URL or Xtream Codes details exactly as supplied.
- Run a speed test on the streaming device.
- Clear the player app's cache and update it.
- Try a second player app to rule out an app problem.
- Make sure no other device is using your connection.
Still not working? It may be a problem on the provider's side rather than yours — or something we can spot quickly.
What Is M3U? M3U Files and M3U Playlists Explained
M3U is a simple playlist format. An M3U file is a plain-text file (ending in .m3u, or .m3u8 for the UTF-8 version) that lists media streams one after another. For IPTV, each entry is a TV channel: a line with the channel's name, logo, and group, followed by the address the stream plays from.
An M3U playlist is that list of channels, and an M3U URL is a web link to it. IPTV providers usually give you a personal M3U URL rather than a file, because a link always serves the latest channel list. You paste it into your player app's "Add playlist" screen and the app builds your channel list from it.
What an M3U playlist looks like inside:
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="news.uk" tvg-logo="logo.png" group-title="UK News",Channel Name
http://server-address:8080/username/password/12345Because your username and password are built into the address, anyone with your M3U URL can use your connection — keep it private. If the playlist loads but individual channels fail, the list itself is fine and the problem is with those particular streams or your connection.
What Is Xtream Codes API?
Xtream Codes API is a login method used by most IPTV services. Instead of one playlist link, you enter three details into your player app:
- Server URL — for example
http://server-address:8080, including the port number. - Username
- Password
The app then talks to the server's API and loads live channels, films, series, the TV guide, and catch-up — already sorted into categories. That's why apps such as IPTV Smarters Pro and TiviMate offer a "Login with Xtream Codes API" option on first launch. The same server can usually also supply an M3U link, so a single subscription works either way.
M3U vs Xtream Codes
| M3U playlist | Xtream Codes API | |
|---|---|---|
| What you enter | One playlist URL (or a file) | Server URL + username + password |
| Channel list | Loaded from the playlist | Loaded by the app through the API |
| TV guide (EPG) | Often needs a separate EPG link | Usually loaded automatically |
| Films & series (VOD) | Can be one long mixed list | Sorted into categories |
| Catch-up | Limited, depends on the app | Supported by most Xtream apps |
If one method isn't working, try the other — it quickly shows whether the problem is the login details, the app, or the service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Televo not working today?
The five most common causes are an expired subscription or changed login, M3U or Xtream Codes details entered incorrectly, a slow or unstable internet connection, a player app that needs its cache cleared or updating, and too many devices connected at once. Work through the quick-fix checklist on this page, or message us on WhatsApp for help.
Why does Televo IPTV keep buffering?
Buffering is almost always the connection between your device and the internet. Test your speed on the streaming device itself, use an Ethernet cable if you can, restart your router, and lower the stream quality if your speed is below about 25 Mbps for 4K or 10 Mbps for HD.
What is an M3U playlist?
An M3U playlist is a plain-text file, or a web link to one, that lists TV channels and the stream address for each. IPTV player apps read it to build your channel list. Your provider gives you a personal M3U URL containing your login.
What is Xtream Codes API?
Xtream Codes API is a login method where you enter a server URL, username, and password instead of a playlist link. The player app then fetches live channels, films, series, the TV guide, and catch-up from the server, already sorted into categories.
Should I use M3U or Xtream Codes?
If your player supports it, Xtream Codes is usually easier: the TV guide and film categories load automatically. Use M3U if your app only accepts a playlist link — for example, some Smart TV apps.
